Through My Lens

The first time I fell in love with photography was in the back yard by our pond. I've always loved flowers and I knew I had to capture their beauty in some artistic way. I grew up with the pond below my childhood bedroom window and I have fond memories of hearing frogs croaking in the late hours of the night. When I was in college, home on breaks, I would stay up late creating and I would hear them while I would try to fall asleep. Now every time I visit, it brings back wonderful memories. My father has worked on the pond for years and every year since, it's been prettier than the last. I wanted to capture moments that told stories about the inter- workings of the ecosystem we call life. (within the pond and in the real world) I would use my iPod touch camera app at the time and played some music in my headphones and got close to the plant life and ceramic art pieces around the water. It wasn't until junior year of high school that I really studied the craft and started my journey that has led me to this moment. Being on the yearbook staff, helped kept my hands on real manual settings. In College I was the Marching Band Photographer and took many candids where ever I went. Now I focus on color and texture within beautiful landscape and flower photography. But in the end, I've always wanted to capture the world- how I see it... through curious eyes, and a curious mind always asking questions and telling the stories we long to hear. Through my lens is where my stories begin...

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
